Ever wanted to start an application or a movie on the monitor of a computer you are not sitting on without anything being noticed on this computer's desktop (like mouse movement etc. via a remote desktop app)? It's really easy and works with every linux distribution:
1. Login with ssh as the same user whose desktop is started on the screen where you want to magically let appear something. Also if you are already logged in as a different user on this machine, you have to login as the same user whose desktop is visible.
2. After logging in enter this command:
3. Even if you logged in with the X-forwarding option (ssh -lUSER -X), the output of every Application will now be send to the screen of the computer you logged in, just try it: e.g. navigate to an folder with a movie and enter as command mplayer -fs MOVIENAME.AVI
